Coach O Announces Summer Intern: Payton McGhee
Coach O would like to introduce our Summer Intern Payton McGhee, a 22 year-old Senior at Troy University.
Payton is majoring in Human Services with a minor in Business Management. Though still intrigued to attend grad school for either Education or Sports Management. This internship interested him due to the opportunity to gain more knowledge of the sport industry. He hopes to become an athletic director at the college or high school level or Public relations manager for a University. With his ability to manage people and situations as second nature, along with his strong social skills and will to succeed, Payton will be a great asset wherever he ends up in the near future.
Payton is the second intern to come from Coach O’s Alma Mater. Carlos Stennis, a former Troy football player was the Intern for the University of Tennessee Spring Sports Event Management. Like Coach O, Payton was also a standout sprinter and a member of the Theta Phi chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi, which Coach O along with 19 other men chartered in 1976 (H2O). Payton will have a wide range of responsibilities this summer.
Writing for the CoachO.com website and its weekly newsletter as well as exploring new opportunities for Coach O in the social media areas and serving as a track official at various meets are a few of his tasks. Payton says this opportunity seems unreal as he was a product of Coach O AAU program under Greg Mays Prattville Panthers and other common factors. “I am very grateful for this opportunity and the doors it possibly can open for my future” said Payton.
