KNOXVILLE, Tenn.- Bags by Coach O, the parent company of Coach O Registration, Track Officials Registration and Coach O Event Management, is happy to celebrate its 19th anniversary on Sept. 12, 2008. Owner Charles “Coach O” Oliver and his staff had an extremely successful year which saw the expansion of Coach O Registration and Coach O Event Management in particular.
Most recently, Coach O Registration was the exclusive on-line registration tool for the 2008 AAU Track and Field Junior Olympics in Detroit, Mich., July 23 through Aug. 2. The meet was the largest in AAU history with nearly 10,000 of the country’s best athletes in attendance. Coach O also served as the meet’s director.
Coach O Registration has already been used for hundreds of youth and collegiate meets as a way for athletes to speed up the registration process by doing it on-line and is the exclusive provider of on-line registration services for AAU Athletics. In addition to the 2007 and 2008 AAU Junior Olympics, other large track and field meets which have utilized Coach O’s on-line registration process include the AAU Youth Cross Country National Championship (Virginia Beach, Va.), the West Coast Junior Olympic Games (Reno, Nev.), the USATF Arizona Regulation (Chandler, Ariz.) and the Festus TigerTown Invitational (Festus, Mo.) as well as numerous other NCAA, AAU and USATF Championships.
Along with the widely popular on-line registration tool, the event management division of Coach O’s track and field service is also growing. Coach O has recently been appointed co-meet director for the 2009 NCAA Mideast Regional at the University of Louisville next May. Coach O recently served as the Event Coordinator for the UCF Invitational hosted by the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Fla.
The recently launched Track Officials Registration division provides meet directors and event coordinators the ability to assemble contact information for officials and volunteers electronically. Track officials can post their availability on the site, which in turn can be accessed by meet directors. The application also serves as a one-stop shop for equipment needed to officiate and work track meets.
On the 19th anniversary, Coach O expressed his gratitude for the friends, customers and supporters who have been with the company since the beginning, as well as those which utilized his services this past year. Bags by Coach O has been a pioneer in the sport of track and field providing positive competitive opportunities for athletes. The organization is currently the primary sponsor of five youth meets in Tennessee, Alabama, Maryland and Illinois.
