Guy Fowler Awarded International Track and Field Coaches Association 2012 Honor Award

The International Track and Field Coaches Association has bestowed a 2012 Honor Award for Youth Development to Guy Fowler to honor his commitment to excellence in the sport of Track and Field and Cross Country.  This honor was given at the 2012 Run for the Dream Indoor Track & Field Invitational held January 20 and 21 at the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California.

Fowler is a Oakdale High Cross Country Coach and Special Education teacher, the current Speed Training coach for the football program and has joined Dave Bacigalupi’s track and field coaching staff for distance runners.

Fowler was also recently elected National Vice Chairman of U.S. Amateur Athletic Union Track and Field/Cross Country., spending a great deal of 2011 volunteering at various AAU events with his wife Karen. Coach Fowler has been involved in AAU track and field since qualifying for national decathlon events in the program as a sophomore at Tulare Union High School.  After a serving as a Head Track and Field Coach at Tulare Union High School, Fowler began teaching and coaching at Oakdale High.

Fowler was one of five Coaches awarded as "Legends, Heroes, Characters, Stars, and Role Models" in the sport of International Track and Field and Cross Country.

The Award is inscribed:
