Coach O: Marketing and Communications Internship for Spring 2013
Coach O, one of the nation's leaders in sporting events management and online registration, seeks a highly motivated intern interested in exploring a career in sports Information, social media marketing and communications. The internship provides a setting for growth, developing and enhancing professional working skills in a dynamic and positive work environment.
This is a collaborative environment encouraging new ideas and innovations. Internship positions are offered for the Spring, Summer, or Winter Semesters. Eligible candidates must be able to receive high school or college credit. This internship is voluntary and unpaid.
Duties for the internship include:
- Marketing Coach O, its products and services;
- Increasing brand recognition primarily through internet marketing
- Contribute to current Coach O social media sites which include Facebook, Twitter and Linked In but explore feasibility and use of other sites such as Blogs, Google+, YouTube , etc.
- Develop and manage consumer engagement through all social media platforms including established and newly developed campaigns.
- Contribute to weekly Newsletter
- Creating fun content for social media, blogging & newsletters
- Gather track meet results and post to www.CoachO.com
Qualifications:
Must be a high school senior or college/university student working towards a diploma or degree. Preferred majors include: Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Sports Management or Advertising. Ideally, candidates will have prior experience in athletics, especially track and field.
- Writing and editing skills, preferably with experience in news writing as well as developing sales and marketing materials
- Working knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, Blogs, Google+ and LinkedIn
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an eye for creativity and accuracy
- Responsible, flexible and energetic
- Comfortable to work independently and collaboratively
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite and Google Docs
- Have the ability to travel as needed
